CPCCOHS1001A – Work Safely in the Construction Industry
(To complete Online course, you must be a Queensland, Tasmanian or West Australian resident or currently working in either State) At this time, online training is not permitted for other States
The CPCCOHS1001A Work Safely in the Construction Industry Course is designed to provide initial health and safety information prior to commencement of Construction Work in compliance with the statutory requirements of the Queensland, Tasmanian & WA Workplace Health & Safety Acts. The Course includes basic Risk Management concepts, Safe Work Practices and an insight into Workplace Health & Safety legislation and Common Law.
After completing the course participants will be expected to have knowledge in:
- Hazard identification
- Risk management
- Work Method Statements for High Risk Construction Activities
- Emergency Procedures
- Hazard and Incident Reporting and Recording
- Roles, Rights and Obligations under the Workplace Health & Safety Legislation
Upon completion of this course, the following elements of competency will be achieved:
- Apply basic risk management concepts when doing construction work
- Prepare for and use safe working practices when doing construction work
- Interpret and comply with the relevant workplace health and safety obligations and common law when doing construction work
Target Population
Expected participants for this course are new construction and other relevant industry workers needing the “White Card” to access a building/construction site
