This course is designed for any business that's core activity involves selling, serving or the provision of food products. All such businesses are required by law under the Food Act 2006, as of July 1, 2008 to have a Food Safety Supervisor.

 

Prerequisite

Before commencing this course you must have previously completed SITXOHS002A – Follow Workplace Hygiene Procedures

 

Who will benefit?

  • Any worker nominated and trained as a Food Safety Supervisor will gain knowledge and skills to ensure the quality of food products in a retail and/or hospitality environment.
  • The employer will benefit by making certain that hygiene, safety, cleaning, maintenance and record keeping procedures are appropriate and implemented.

 

After completing the course participants will be expected to:

  • Identify and control food safety hazards
  • Record food safety information
  • Monitor work area materials, equipment & product to ensure compliance with food safety requirements
  • Have an understanding of the importance of adherence of personal hygiene standards
