This course is designed for persons supervising food receipt, preparation, handling and service in the Community and Health Care Service sectors (i.e. aged care, hospitals, meals on wheels, child care).
Prerequisite
Before commencing this course you must have previously completed - HLTFS207B Follow Basic Food Safety Practices
Who will benefit?
- Any worker nominated and trained as a Food Safety Supervisor will gain knowledge and skills to ensure the quality of food products in a Community and Health Care Service environment.
- The employer will benefit by making certain that hygiene, safety, cleaning, maintenance and record keeping procedures are appropriate and implemented.
After completing the course participants will be expected to:
- Identify and control food safety hazards
- Record food safety information
- Monitor work area materials, equipment & product to ensure compliance with food safety requirements
- Have an understanding of the importance of adherence of personal hygiene standards
